Batting Glove Velcro Care

The leather used in our products is of such high quality that it will typically outlast the
Velcro. Over time, repeated opening and closing, especially when combined with dirt
and dust from the ballfield—can cause the Velcro to wear down more quickly.
To extend its lifespan, we recommend keeping the Velcro clean and free of debris, and
always securing it when not in use to minimize unnecessary wear.
1. Keep It Clean
Dirt, dust, and field debris can quickly clog Velcro and reduce its grip. After each use:
Gently brush the Velcro with a toothbrush or fine-tooth comb to remove dirt
and lint.
Use tweezers for stubborn debris or duct tape to lift surface fuzz.
2. Secure Before Washing
If you wash gear that includes Velcro:
Always fasten the Velcro closed first to prevent it from picking up lint or snagging
on other items.
3. Store Properly
Keep gear in a clean, dry place, and avoid tossing it in with loose dirt or grass.
When not in use, press the Velcro shut to protect both sides.
4. Limit Unnecessary Use
Opening and closing the Velcro more than needed—especially with dirty hands or
gloves—can wear it out faster.
5. Replacement Tip
Our high-quality leather is built to last, and often the Velcro will wear out before the rest
of your glove or strap. If needed, Velcro patches can be replaced by a local repair shop
or leather goods specialist.
